The TPC makes people sit-up and take notice, that is the TPC in Jacksonville. One of the hardest layouts in modern golf. If you tell your friends you are playing or plYed this track it becomes an instant conversation. But now I think, and I may be wrong, but there is a TPC course in almost every state. The title used to mean something! I have played The TPC twice, TPC at the Reserve dozens of times, TPC Avenil a half dozen times and loved the experience. It was a pleasure to tee it up. I have even played TPC Sugarloaf outside of Atlanta, it was ok but it did not have the same feel as the others.
I played Harding Park prior to the take over and it was a greAt experience. The history and character shown through the many Cypress lined fairways. It acted like a great muni ie. Bethpage Black. You new you were in rarefied air and surroundings. This experience will not be same for many golfers that venture onto this hallowed ground.
The TPC brand tends to move into a cookie cutter way of doing things. I have spent many years within the ranks of the PGA as a club pro and their philosophy tends to migrate through out everything they do from teaching to management to golf course management. Not everything needs to placed in a mold, some things are better left out of a mold to be formed by natural causes. I hope I am dead wrong in my opinion and Harding Park keeps the mystic is has. My hope is the Tour allows this vintage course to breathe as it has done for years.

Great to hear from you and thanks for the nice feedback.

What are you up to these days?

Love to do a Kubly piece someday if still working with him.

My good friends daughter attended a Florida college via a scholarship a few years back, recuiters liked the fact that she was so skilled for a girl who only played 6 months in a golf season. They wanted to see her potential by letting her play golf during the whole year. Tallia is now a succesful lawyer here in Western Canada. A nice way to utilize her golfing ability to say the least, and yes she still finds time to " bomb " drives down the fairways.
